What Customers Say About Songs You Know by Heart : Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hit(s):

The song, "Ace" is a great window into the soul of Jimmy that a greatest hits cd will not open up to. Jimmy Buffet is one of the few artist in my opinion that cannot be measured in a "greatest hits." To be honest, I feel Jimmy Buffet shouldn't have a greatest hits. Margaritaville is only a appetizer into the feast that Jimmy has created over the years. Also, the song, "Cowboy in the Jungle" off of, Son of a Son of a Sailor is impeckable to me and also is not reflected on this cd.Jimmy is a true artist and is worth a complete listen and not a snapshot. His music is like chapters in ones life and each chapter (album) is a journey. The album, High Cumberland Jubilee, contains many great songs not on this cd.

Otherwise, the transaction went well.Freda The transaction was fine. Be sure to place expedited shipping if you want the product in a hurry though.

It is a collection of some of Jimmy's best songs on one CD. If you could only own one Jimmy Buffett CD this would be a good one to have.

Jeez. Clean out the garage or play with the kids instead. It's not like I hate Jimmy Buffet, but c'mon. How many more times do you need to hear these songs.

As someone who's not into parties, dancing, or even having fun for that matter (my idea of having fun is watching Deal or No Deal on TV) I gotta admit, if you sit down and really listen to these songs, there's actually a good chance you will be somewhat satisfied with what you're hearing. Oh man, enough is enough. In other words, I thought the music he was creating was the kind you're not supposed to really care about, because at *least* you're drunk and having fun, so it doesn't even matter what the music is like.Well guys, I was wrong about that. LOVE that song. Fear not- this is NOT just music for your parents. In fact, for years I thought Jimmy Buffett was some strange goofball who couldn't really write songs and mainly focused on, well, being a goofball.

You *can* be young and Buffett happy without any shame in it. Don't think it's just music for your parents either. We don't need to hear "Margaritaville" anymore though. Yeah, go with the upbeat stuff.Good album that you shouldn't be afraid to give a listen to. January is my second least favorite month of the year).Just like my dad, my favorite song is "Come Monday". Who sits around getting depressed over Buffett songs. Just expect songwriting that's somewhat entertaining and that's it.Oh sure, there's some typical 70's ballads on here, but most of the songs are about having the time of your life at the beach while you polish your boat, running around through the sand looking for money with your metal detector, or sitting around having a few drinks with the guys in Florida or anywhere else that's warm (as you can tell, I'm jealous of warm places- it's supposed to be 10 degrees here in Philadelphia next week and that makes me angry. I'm guessing more people prefer their Buffett songs to be that way.

A guy who was more concerned experiencing the joy of warm pleasant air and late night parties, and less concerned writing a vocal melody that holds the test of time. Most of the songs are more upbeat. So go grab a cheeseburger and a couple drinks, turn up the thermostat, and enjoy. Don't expect King Crimson kind of influential, creative experiments (why would you). Truly a classic song THAT one is, and I even get tears listening to that wonderful chorus.
